The Lampeter-Strasburg YMCA seeks a dependable part-time Custodian to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for members and staff at the Lampeter-Strasburg YMCA in Lancaster, PA. The role requires attention to detail and the ability to manage custodial tasks across the facility.

Responsibilities include cleaning, floor care, equipment operation, room setups, and reporting maintenance needs. Earn $9.00-$12.00 per hour with a Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–4:00 PM schedule and YMCA membership

Qualifications

• Knowledge of commercial cleaning methods and sanitation practices.
• Ability to operate custodial equipment safely.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
• Ability to read instructions, manuals, and safety guidelines.
• Basic record-keeping and reporting skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities.
• Ability to lift, move, and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Previous custodial, housekeeping, facilities, or janitorial experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean, sanitize, and maintain assigned areas across the facility.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, clean windows, remove trash and recycling.
• Perform floor care including wet mopping and buffing as needed.
• Operate vacuums, buffers, pressure washers and other cleaning tools safely.
• Assist with room setups and breakdowns for programs and events.
• Monitor inventory and restock supplies as needed.
• Identify and report maintenance or repair needs promptly.
• Follow safety procedures for chemicals and equipment.
• Support a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for members and guests.

Help Create a Clean, Safe, and Welcoming YMCA Experience

The Lampeter-Strasburg YMCA is seeking a dependable and detail‑oriented Custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and inviting environment for members, guests, and staff. Essential Responsibilities

• Clean, sanitize, and maintain assigned areas throughout the facility, including wellness spaces, program rooms, locker rooms, offices, and common areas.
• Perform routine custodial duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, window cleaning, trash removal, and recycling collection.
• Complete floor care tasks such as wet mopping, buffing, stripping, and other maintenance procedures as needed.
• Operate custodial equipment including vacuums, floor buffers, pressure washers, and other cleaning tools safely and effectively.
• Assist with room setups and breakdowns for programs, meetings, and special events.
• Monitor inventory levels and restock cleaning and facility supplies as needed.
• Identify, document, and report maintenance or repair needs in a timely manner.
• Follow all safety procedures, including proper storage and handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Support a safe, clean, and professional environment for all YMCA members and guests.

Compensation & Schedule

$9.00-$12.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Monday-Friday
• Between the hours of 8:00 AM-4:00 PM
