Job summary

Trinity Health Senior Communities at Saint Mary Home in West Hartford is seeking a part-time custodian. This Per Diem (as needed) position has a rotating shift with no guaranteed hours.

The Custodian will keep resident rooms, common areas and facility grounds clean and safe, following safety, infection control, and operational guidelines to support a welcoming environment for residents and staff. The Custodian ensures a clean and safe environment for residents, visitors, and staff by performing a variety of housekeeping and maintenance duties. This role includes cleaning resident rooms, common areas, and facility grounds, while adhering to all safety, infection control, and operational guidelines.

Required knowledge, skills & abilities:

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.




• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and sanitation standards.




• Ability to operate and maintain housekeeping equipment safely and effectively.




• Physical stamina to walk, bend, reach, push, pull, and lift (up to 60 lbs) frequently.




• Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team environment.




• Good communication skills and ability to interact courteously with residents, staff, and visitors.




• Flexibility to handle multiple responsibilities and respond to changing priorities.




• Knowledge of safety procedures, infection control practices, and proper use of cleaning chemicals.
