Job summary

Fluor Constructors in Warrenton, OR is seeking a Custodian to perform cleaning across facilities, including floors, restrooms, and common areas. You will follow safety guidelines, operate cleaning equipment, and report maintenance needs to supervision.

A valid driver’s license and a basic level of physical fitness are required. Minimum experience includes 1 year in custodial work (or an equivalent combination of education and related experience).

Qualifications

• Proven experience as custodian, janitor, or in a similar role.
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences including management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
• Knowledge of use and maintenance of cleaning equipment and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Vacuuming, mopping, dust mopping, sweeping and scrubbing floors.
• Empty waste containers and deliver collected refuse to loading dock.
• Perform restroom cleaning and checks; clean water fountains, fitness centers, showers, and locker rooms.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, mirrors, doors and fixtures at prescribed heights.
• Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors; shampoo carpets.
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners; monitor building for safety and report issues.
• Maintain custodial equipment in a clean, safe condition and report shortages.

Job Description

• Vacuuming
• Mopping, dust mopping, sweeping and scrubbing floors.
• Empty waste containers.
• Low and high cleaning.
• Deliver collected refuse to the loading dock.
• Perform restroom cleaning.
• Preform restroom checks.
• Clean water fountains.
• Clean fitness centers, showers and locker rooms.
• Clean freight and passenger elevators.
• Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors at prescribed heights.
• Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
• Shampoo carpets.
• Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners.
• Police grounds and empty waste containers.
• Assist in Special Events setups.
• Must monitor building for maintenance, safety, and security issues and report any violations to immediate Supervisor or Management.
• Maintains custodial equipment in a clean, safe, operable condition.
• Report shortage of supplied and equipment failuers to immediate Supervisor or Management.
• Preforms other related work as assigned.

Basic Job Requirements

• A combination of education and directly related experience equal to one (1) year*; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to managements, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner *This is the typical years of experience required for this job. Other Job Requirements

• Must have a valid driver's license
• Proven experience as custodian, janitor, or in a similar role.
• Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances
• Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components
• Familiarity with basic landscaping and handyman practices
• Attention to detail and conscientiousness
• Very good physical condition and strength
• High school diploma is preferred but not required.
