Job summary

University of Central Missouri is seeking a Custodian to perform custodial duties in the Warrensburg area. The role includes floor care, carpet cleaning, trash removal, restroom and common area cleaning, and general maintenance under supervision.

Standard hours are Monday to Friday, 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM, with a start date of 9/16/2026. Candidates should have a High School Diploma or equivalent and prior custodial experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous custodial experience preferred.
• Excessive standing and/or walking, exposure to temperatures and chemicals, lifting up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, dust mop, spot mop, spray buff, shower scrub, burnish, and refinish all hard surface floors throughout the assigned area, or as assigned by the supervisor.
• Vacuum, spot clean, shampoo, extract carpets throughout the assigned area, or as assigned by the supervisor.
• Move furniture, equipment, materials, and perform other general maintenance.
• Maintain assigned custodial area and keep it clean and safe.
• Remove trash and debris; clean entryways, windows, blinds, light fixtures, and vents.
• Maintain clean and safe work area; report needs for repairs or replacements to the Facilities Main Office; restock supplies and assist relief custodians.

Sweep, dust mop, spot mop, spray buff, shower scrub, burnish, and refinish all hard surface floors throughout the assigned area, or as assigned by the supervisor. Vacuum, spot clean, shampoo, extract carpets throughout the assigned area, or as assigned by the supervisor. Move furniture, equipment, materials, and perform other general maintenance. Service, clean, and disinfect restrooms, classrooms, offices, and clean drinking fountains. Remove trash and debris from building to dumpster. Clean entry way, partition glass, interior windows, blinds, light fixtures, and vents. Dust furniture, spot clean walls, ceilings, and doors/frames, as needed. Maintain custodial closets, work areas, and equipment in a clean and safe manner. Snow removal, as required. Report to the Facilities Main Office by job request anything that needs repairing or replacing. Perform additional duties, as assigned by administrative or supervising personnel. Order and re-stock supplies. Assist or relieve relief custodian, as assigned.

Education:
