Job summary

Responsibilities

• Perform custodial duties to keep buildings clean, safe, and healthy for students, staff, and visitors.
• Assist with maintenance tasks such as minor repairs and lighting replacements as needed.
• Support setup and teardown for events and programs; move supplies and equipment as required.
• Monitor safety procedures, health and safety issues, and fire drills according to district policy.

Job description

JOB SUMMARY: Provide custodial support for the School District in order to provide a clean, safe and healthy environment for students, staff, and the public. Respond to requests for custodial help or assistance.

Cleaning and Upkeep

• Clean, scrub, strip, wax, vacuum, sweep, dust.
• Clean glass, walls, desks, restrooms
• Wet mop kitchen, lunchroom, restrooms daily and halls as needed
• Respond to emergency requests and cleanup situations
• Perform all assigned duties to the best of your abilities

Maintenance/Repair

• Assist with major repairs and maintenance
• Perform small maintenance repairs - desks, plumbing, heating, electrical and general repairs
• Replace lights and ballasts

General Support and Duties

• Conduct ground maintenance including mowing, snow removal, ice melt
• Set up and take down for sports, community education programs, etc
• Set up and take down for supplies in their proper place
• Deliver and/or storesupplies in their proper place
• Inform Head Custodian of needed supplies and other pertinent information

Requirements

• Take classes and refresher courses as needed or required - employer provide
• Learning the basic understanding of the heating controls
• Monitor fire drills, lock downs,and evacuations
• Work on Health and Safety issues

Physical involviment

• Must be in good physical condition - lifting, stooping, and crawling
• Climbing ladders and heights
• Position involves extended periods on feet
