Job Description

The State College Area School District is looking for custodians to provide students, staff, and visitors with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient educational environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate (GED).
• Ability to operate all equipment and machinery required, such as scrubbing machines, vacuum cleaners, mop and bucket, lawnmowers, tractors, snow and leaf blowers, and hand tools.

Physical Requirements / Environmental Conditions

• Physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
• Requires stooping, kneeling, crawling, bending, turning, and reaching.
• Requires climbing and balancing.
• Must be able to work indoors and outdoors year-round.
• Must be able to work in and around dust, fumes, and odors.

Other Job Responsibilities

• React to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned.

This is a full‑time, benefits‑eligible position, scheduled for 40 hours per week with potential to work various shifts.
