The Custodian is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, welcoming, and event-ready facilities at Active Generations. In addition to routine custodial responsibilities, this position plays an important role in preparing spaces for programs, meetings, rentals, and special events through room setup, teardown, and resets. The Custodian works collaboratively with team members across the organization and provides professional and courteous service to members, guests, volunteers, renters, and community partners.

Dependability, initiative, time management, good judgment, teamwork, and a commitment to maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming facilities are essential to success in this position.
Work is primarily performed indoors throughout Active Generations facilities, including offices, common areas, dining areas, restrooms, storage areas, and program spaces, with outdoor work related to facility and seasonal needs. The employee may be exposed to cleaning chemicals, dust, odors, wet or slippery surfaces, moderate noise levels, and varying temperatures. The position requires frequent movement throughout the facility and regular interaction with members, guests, volunteers, renters, vendors, and team members. Work hours may vary based on operational and event needs and may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, or occasional holidays.
