Job summary

Diocese of Venice, Inc. is seeking a full-time custodian for Cardinal Mooney High School in Sarasota, Florida to maintain a clean and safe school environment. Responsibilities include cleaning classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas, as well as assisting with events and basic maintenance.

The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs, following safety procedures, and collaborating with vendors as needed. A high school diploma and valid driver’s license are required; fingerprinting and DOE

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect classrooms, offices, restrooms, halls, and common areas.
• Empty trash and recycling and dispose of waste.
• Clean windows, doors, glass, fixtures and surfaces.
• Assist with periodic deep cleaning, floor care, and event prep.
• Set up and breakdown tables, chairs, and equipment for events.
• Perform minor repairs or work orders as assigned.
• Assist with preventative maintenance tasks and inspections.
• Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors as directed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Overview

Cardinal Mooney High School in Sarasota, Florida is seeking a Full-time school custodian. Job duties include, but are not limited to:
Job Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, common areas and other school facilities as assigned
• Empty trash and recycling and dispose of waste
• Clean windows, doors, glass, fixtures, and other surfaces as needed
• Assist with periodic deep cleaning, floor care, and preparation of the facilities for the beginning and end of the school year
• Assist with the set-up and breakdown of tables, chairs, equipment, and other materials for school events
• Perform minor repairs or work orders as assigned
• Assist with preventative maintenance tasks and routine facility inspections
• Assist with outside vendors and contractors when directed by supervisors
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent
• Ability to keep track of and report on activity.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to safely use cleaning supplies with knowledge regarding proportional chemicals or cleaning solutions.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
• Ability to climb, bend, kneel, twist, push, pull continuously throughout day.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must pass a DOV assigned post offer physical exam.
