The Salvation Army Southern Territory in Texas is seeking a part-time Facilities maintenance staff to perform general cleaning and housekeeping at Area Command facilities in the San Antonio area.

This role emphasizes physical work, reliability and the ability to read, write, and communicate in English. It involves standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, and duties performed indoors and outdoors as required by the environment.

Qualifications

• Six months experience performing general janitorial and general maintenance duties; OR equivalent training/experience.

Performs a variety of general maintenance and housekeeping for the Area Command, maintains a safe, neatness and cleanliness of the facilities daily.Key Responsibilities:Facilities Cleaning Responsibilities (80%)Other Responsibilities (20%)Physical Requirements:Ability to meet attendance requirements.Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language effectively.Ability to perform strenuous, heavy work involving the lifting and carrying of heavy objects.Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing.Ability to exert the physical energy required to perform the needed janitorial work.Duties are performed standing and requires squatting, climbing, bending and walking.
