Job summary

Leidos is seeking a dedicated Custodian in California to ensure a clean, safe, and sanitary facility environment. duties include restroom sanitation, floor care, window cleaning, trash disposal, and supply replenishment.

The role supports event setup/breakdown and day-to-day operations, with a Monday–Friday schedule. Candidates must have a HS diploma, 1–3 years in facilities-related work, and clearance eligibility (TS/SCI with Polygraph).

Qualifications

  • Must obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with Polygraph prior to starting.
  • 1–3 years of experience in facilities management, operations, or a related field
  • Basic familiarity with building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical)
  • Knowledge of safety standards and building codes

Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, including sinks, toilets, mirrors, and floors
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors in assigned areas
  • Clean windows, walls, and other surfaces as needed
  • Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in a sanitary manner
  • Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper
  • Monitor and report maintenance issues or safety hazards
  • Assist with setup and breakdown of furniture and equipment for meetings and special events

Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team. The Custodian is responsible for ensuring a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout the facility. This includes routine cleaning and maintenance of restrooms, floors, surfaces, windows, and trash disposal. The role also involves supporting special events with setup, cleanup, and general maintenance tasks. This position works a consistent Monday–Friday schedule.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, including sinks, toilets, mirrors, and floors
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors in assigned areas
  • Clean windows, walls, and other surfaces as needed

Basic Qualifications:

  • Ability to work both independently and under moderate supervision
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in facilities coordination, office space planning, or vendor/contract management
  • Experience with space utilization planning and long-range office space strategy
  • Familiarity with sustainability practices and energy efficiency in facility management
