Job summary

SBM is seeking a part-time Custodian in Plainfield, IN. You will perform janitorial duties, operate cleaning equipment, and maintain daily upkeep of assigned areas, while adhering to safety rules and procedures.

Strong verbal and written communication and basic reading of instructions are valued. A valid driver's license and safety training may be required, with bilingual ability considered a plus.

Qualifications

• No specific education requirement; 3–6 months training or experience preferred.
• May be required to have a valid driver’s license and safety/task training certification.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and chemicals, and proper use of cleaning equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial duties and maintain daily upkeep of assigned areas.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment and report incidents or hazards to supervisor.
• Follow safety rules and company procedures; maintain a professional appearance and conduct.
• Support shift lead in completing punch-list items and communicate with team and customers.

Other duties may be assigned.* Perform janitorial duties* Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule* Perform Hazardous Waste responsibilities including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, packaging of special and hazardous waste.* Operate motorized cleaning equipment* Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area* Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor* Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures* Stop at risk behavior of others and self* Perform work assignments in a team with other employees* Perform repetitive tasks* Maintain clean work area* Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules* Take direction and respond to supervision* Talk with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner* Fill in during staff shortage* Support shift lead in completing punch-list items* Use proper personal protective equipment* Present a professional appearance and conduct* Understand customer service and satisfaction* Understand reporting systems, and of the environment**Qualification**To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
