Job summary

Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking a dependable Custodian to ensure clean and safe facilities, including locker rooms, floors, and common areas, in the West Philadelphia location.

This evening shift from 6pm to 10pm offers part-time hours with the YMCA's mission-driven environment and opportunities for training and growth within a community-focused team.

Candidates must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED and be able to operate cleaning equipment.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age with a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize walls, floors, furniture, equipment utilizing the proper supplies and in accordance with product label instructions.
• Set up and break down equipment as needed. Ensure all equipment for member programs is clean, sanitized and in good working order.
• Respond promptly to all emergency situations as well as maintain the safety of all members, program participants, guests, and staff.
• Maintain closets and shop areas in neat, organized, and safe condition with all supplies and chemicals properly labeled.

T he Custodian is expected to ensure effective cleanliness of all assigned facilities/projects which include locker rooms , floors, grounds, and general custodial maintenance . Ensure a safe, clean, and healthy environment and a positive member experience. This role is scheduled for second shifts, from 6pm - 10pm.

What is needed for this:

• 18 years of age with a high school or technical school diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment.

The responsibilities we will trust you with:

• Clean and sanitize walls, floors, furniture, equipment utilizing the proper supplies and in accordance with product label instructions. Vacuum, sweep, dust all areas, furniture, light fixtures, and other equipment. Routinely monitor trash and dispose in accordance with procedures.
• Set up and break down equipment as needed. Ensure all equipment for member programs is clean, sanitized and in good working order.
• Respond promptly to all emergency situations as well as maintain the safety of all members, program participants, guests, and staff.
• Maintain closets and shop areas in neat, organized, and safe condition with all supplies and chemicals properly labeled.
