Job summary

The DM Burr Group is hiring a Full Time Custodian for the 2nd shift in Oak Park, MI. Schedule is Monday through Friday, 3:00pm to 11:30pm with a $200 hiring bonus after 90 days.

The role involves cleaning, floor care, restroom stocking, and light maintenance. Training is provided, and a comprehensive benefits package is offered for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• Must be self-motivated with ability to work with minimal supervision.
• 0-6 months custodial/janitorial experience using floor scrubbers, buffers, stripping machines.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Read and follow label instructions on cleaning supplies.
• Follow basic verbal and written instructions.
• Pay close attention to detail.
• Team oriented and collaborative.

Responsibilities

• Use approved methods and materials to clean and care for the facility.
• Operate and maintain equipment like floor scrubbers, buffers, stripping machines, vacuums.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub and polish floors.
• Empty trash receptacles.
• Remove stains from rugs, drapes, walls, and floors with cleaners.
• Clean furniture, window sills, walls, and surfaces.
• Dust and wash walls, ceilings, and polish light fixtures.
• Move cabinets, boxes, and equipment to access areas.
• Stock and clean restrooms, janitorial closet, and break rooms.
• Record cleaning logs and report to Supervisor.
• Perform light building maintenance as needed.
• Report major safety items for repair.
• Other duties as assigned.

Primary Responsibilities

• Use approved methods and materials in cleaning and caring for assigned facility.
• Operate and maintain equipment such as; auto floor scrubbers, burnishing buffers, stripping machines and vacuums.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub and polish floors using industrial vacuum cleaners and scrubbing and buffing machines.
• Empty trash receptacles.
• May remove stains from such surfaces as rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
• General cleaning furniture, window sills, and walls.
• Dust, wash walls, clean ceilings, and polish light fixtures.
• Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates and equipment to clean areas.
• Clean/stock all restroom, janitorial closet and break rooms.
• Record and document all cleaning functions on appropriate logs and report to Supervisor.
• Perform light building maintenance duties as needed.
• Report any major safety item for repair.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements
