NATURE OF WORK

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


  • Sweeps, mops, scrubs, and waxes

  • Dusts and polishes furniture; cleans offices.

  • Washes windows, walls, and

  • Cleans, sanitizes, and deodorizes restrooms; replaces soap and paper

  • Unclogs

  • Empties and cleans waste receptacles and

  • Disposes of trash

  • Vacuums and shampoos

  • Strips, waxes, and buffs

  • Cleans vents and light

  • Assists in moving office

  • Maintains equipment and custodial supplies and replenishes as

  • Cuts weeds, rakes leaves, and removes litter from

  • Maintains entrances, steps, walkways, and parking lots.

  • Cleans snow and ice from parking lots, walkways, entrances, and steps.

  • Trims and prunes trees and bushes at ten feet and

  • Irrigates lawns using sprinklers, hoses, and flooding

  • Performs minor maintenance and

  • Sets up tables and chairs in various meeting rooms as

  • Adjusts heating, lighting, sound systems, and water valves in buildings as

  • Attends and participates in meetings and planning

  • Informs supervisor of any defects or repairs needed in buildings or on

  • Observes safety rules and maintains a safe

  • Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as

  • Performs other duties as required.


KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, SKILLS, AND CERTIFICATIONS:


  • Knowledge of traditional form of government and pueblo customs and

  • Knowledge of the functions and structure of Ohkay

  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and applicable safety

  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language both verbally and in

  • Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with co- workers at all

  • Ability to safely use cleaning products and safely operate cleaning

  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written

  • Ability to learn the methods of cleaning and caring for buildings, grounds, and

  • Ability to work as a team member in a structured working

  • Ability to demonstrate excellence in everything, and continually seek improvement in

  • Skill in the use of cleaning tools, chemicals, cleaners, and

  • Certified in First Aid and

  • Certification in Food


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:


  • Must successfully be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen and background

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hand to finger handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk to hear. The employee occasionally is required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Able to work in fast-paced, multi-task environment. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to fifty (50) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.


WORK ENVIROMENT:

Work is performed both indoors and outdoors. Exposure to fumes or airborne particles may occur, and the incumbent is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. Evening, weekend, and or holiday work is rarely required. Travel, though rare, may be required for training, meetings, conferences, presentations and other events.
