Job summary

Malace HR is seeking EXPERIENCED Custodians for a manufacturing facility in Mt. Juliet, TN, starting ASAP. This role involves cleaning office areas, production floors, restrooms, and common areas to maintain a safe, sanitary environment.

Shifts include 4 pm–12:30 am and 7 am–3:30 pm or 4 pm–12:30 pm, with emphasis on safety, proper chemical handling, and reliable attendance. Responsibilities include operating floor scrubbers and vacuums, restocking supplies, and reporting maintenance or safety

Qualifications

• Prior custodial, janitorial, housekeeping or industrial cleaning experience preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing, automotive, warehouse, or industrial facility is preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment after training.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to comply with facility safety and housekeeping requirements.

Responsibilities

• Empty trash and recycling containers and transport waste to designated areas.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, sinks, and fixtures.

• Refill paper products, soap, and janitorial supplies.
• Operate floor scrubbers, buffers, vacuums, and other equipment safely.
• Follow procedures for handling cleaning chemicals and hazardous materials.
• Report maintenance issues, spills, or unsafe conditions to supervisors.
• Maintain cleaning supplies and storage areas.
• Follow facility rules, PPE requirements, safety procedures, and subcontractor policies.
• Perform additional cleaning and sanitation duties as assigned by management.

Job Summary

Responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary work environment throughout the facility. Performs general custodial and janitorial duties in accordance with company standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain office areas, production floors, break rooms, restrooms, locker rooms, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and scrub floors using manual and powered cleaning equipment.
• Empty trash and recycling containers and transport waste to designated collection areas.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, sinks, toilets, fixtures, and other high-touch surfaces.
• Dust and wipe down furniture, desks, tables, windowsills, and other surfaces.
• Refill paper products, soap, and other restroom and janitorial supplies.
• Operate floor scrubbers, buffers, vacuums, and other custodial equipment safely.
• Follow proper procedures for handling cleaning chemicals and hazardous materials.
• Report maintenance issues, spills, damaged equipment, or unsafe conditions to supervisors.
• Maintain assigned cleaning supplies, equipment, and storage areas in an organized condition.
• Follow all facility rules, PPE requirements, safety procedures, and subcontractor policies.
• Perform additional cleaning and sanitation duties as assigned by management.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, pull, and climb stairs as required.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs,carry, and move cleaning supplies, equipment, and waste within the requirements of the position.
• Ability to operate custodial equipment safely.
• Ability to work in an industrial/manufacturing environment, including areas with noise, varying temperatures, and other normal facility conditions.
• Ability to wear required PPE for the duration of assigned work.

Work Environment

This position is performed inside a large manufacturing facility and may involve working near active production areas, industrial equipment, vehicles, forklifts, machinery, noise, dust, cleaning chemicals, and varying temperatures. The Custodian must remain alert to changing conditions and follow all established safety procedures.

Performance Expectations

The Custodian is expected to maintain assigned areas to established cleanliness standards, complete work assignments efficiently, respond promptly to housekeeping needs, properly care for equipment and supplies, and consistently demonstrate safe work practices.
