State Technical College of Missouri is accepting applications for full time, 12-month, non-exempt, and benefit eligible Custodian position for the Facilities department. Required Qualifications

This position requires a high school diploma.

This Position Requires Work Experience In The Following Areas

• Skills in custodial work and six months or one-year experience in janitorial work or comparable experience may be accepted. Post-secondary course work is considered a valuable asset.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to work with little or no supervision.
• Ability to use common sense techniques.
• Ability to identify problems and determine the best course of action for their resolution.
• Ability to critically evaluate information for accuracy and usefulness in solving problems.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Strong oral communication skills to interact with other workers.
• Basic written skills to accurately complete reports and other paper work

Job Responsibilities

• Pick up trash inside and outside of building
• Empty trashcans and haul off trash
• Sweep and wet mop hard surface floors
• Vacuum and shampoo carpet floors
• Vacuum doormats
• Buff, strip and wax floors
• Disinfect and wipe clean all horizontal surfaces to include desk, chairs, tables, window sills, etc.
• Sweep sidewalks as needed
• Clean bathrooms daily to include sinks, countertops, toilets, floors, mirrors, baseboards, hand dryers
• Check and restock all paper towel dispensers, soap dispensers, toilet paper dispensers, etc. daily
• Clean all glass at entrance/exit areas and other glass as needed
• Disinfect and wipe down high touch surfaces to include: handrails, door knobs, panic bars, elevator buttons, handicap buttons, water fountains, vending machines, light switches, hand washing stations, etc.
• Keep inventory of supplies and request supplies when needed
• Clean air vents
• Check all doors are locked daily.
• Assist with light maintenance tasks to include: change batteries in auto faucets, flush sensors, hand sanitizer stations, etc.
• Assist Facilities with setups and tear downs for events
• Supervision of Work-Study student workers
• Assist with grounds keeping, maintenance and snow removal as needed
• Perform other related duties as needed or assigned
