Job summary

SBM Management Services, LP is seeking a Custodian to ensure cleanliness and sanitation across assigned areas. The role involves performing janitorial duties, hazardous waste handling, and operation of cleaning equipment, with a focus on safety and teamwork.

The position emphasizes professional conduct, adherence to protocols, and customer service, with a Saturday-Sunday shift from 6pm to 6:30am and a pay range of $16.00-$17.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• No specific education requirement; 3–6 months training or experience preferred.
• May require a valid driver’s license and safety/task training certifications.
• Bilingual a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial duties.
• Perform Hazardous Waste responsibilities including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, packaging of special and hazardous waste.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment.
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area.
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures.
• Stop at risk behavior of others and self.
• Perform work assignments in a team with other employees.
• Maintain clean work area.
• Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules.
• Take direction and respond to supervision.
• Talk with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner.
• Fill in during staff shortage.
• Support shift lead in completing punch-list items.
• Use proper personal protective equipment.
• Present a professional appearance and conduct.
• Understand customer service and satisfaction.
• Understand reporting systems, and of the environment.

Education and/ or Experience: No specific education requirement, 3-6 months training or experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: May be required to have a valid driver’s license. Completed all safety and task training certification. May be required to be forklift certified.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Bilingual a plus

• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with team
• Knowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment
• Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
