Job summary

SBM Management Services, LP in Hillsboro, OR is seeking a Custodian responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all assigned areas, with emphasis on safety and professional conduct.

The role includes performing janitorial duties, hazardous waste handling, operating motorized cleaning equipment, maintaining daily upkeep, and collaborating with a team. Shifts are Sunday through Thursday, 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm, with a pay rate of $16.85–$17.85 per hour. SBM offers comprehensive benefit packages.

Qualifications

• No specific education requirement; 3–6 months training or experience preferred.
• Strong cleaning knowledge and safety orientation.
• Able to read and follow instructions and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial duties.
• Hazardous Waste responsibilities including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, packaging of special and hazardous waste.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment.
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area.
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
• Follow safety rules, policies, and procedures.
• Work in a team with other employees.
• Maintain clean work area.
• Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules.
• Take direction and respond to supervision.
• Talk with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner.

• Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule
• Perform Hazardous Waste responsibilities including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, packaging of special and hazardous waste.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area

• Stop at risk behavior of others and self
• Perform work assignments in a team with other employees
• Maintain clean work area

Education and/ or Experience: No specific education requirement, 3-6 months training or experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: May be required to have a valid driver’s license. Completed all safety and task training certification. May be required to be forklift certified.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Bilingual a plus

Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with team

Knowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment

Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
