Job summary

UG2, a Boston-based facilities services provider, is seeking a Custodian to perform daily cleaning tasks across our Massachusetts facilities. Responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, trash removal, restroom service, window cleaning, dusting, and ensuring a clean, safe environment.

The role requires following procedures, operating cleaning equipment, using PPE when required, and working with a collaborative team to maintain high standards of cleanliness across multiple areas.

Qualifications

• Experience in general housekeeping and facility cleaning.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely.
• Familiarity with PPE protocols in lab environments (where required).

Responsibilities

• Clean floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
• Gather and empty trash.
• Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
• Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors.
• Clean kitchenettes and appliances.
• Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
• Follow chemical cleaners and power equipment procedures.
• Notify manager of concerns.
• Maintain equipment and supplies.
• Don and doff PPE when required for labs.
• Ensure tidiness of assigned areas.
• Clean tables and counter tops.
• Remove marks on floors.
• Perform other related duties.
• Take direction and work with minimal supervision.

Job description

The Custodian shall possess the appropriate experience and skill set to perform all General Housekeeping duties, including all daily, weekly, bi-weekly, etc.

Custodians must be able to perform the following cleaning tasks at a minimum; vacuuming/sweeping floors, washing hard surface floors, waste stream removal and sorting, dusting, cleaning windows/glass surfaces, cleaning and sanitizing of bathrooms, disinfecting high touch surfaces, carpet spot stain removal, hard surface wipe down/stain removal, etc.

Responsibilities/Tasks/Duties:

• Clean floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
• Gather and empty trash.
• Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
• Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
• Clean kitchenettes and appliances
• Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Notify manager if any concerns or needs.
• Maintains equipment and supplies in good working condition.
• Ability to put on (donning) and remove (doffing) oneself with appropriate .PPE when required for labs.
• Clean glass and walls of fingerprints and spills.
• Ensuring the tidiness of any areas assigned in your schedule.
• Clean Tables and Counter Tops.
• Remove marks on hard surface floors.
• Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
• Must be able to take direction, work with minimal supervision and be able to function cooperatively as part of the team.

Physical Demands:

Handles the physical demands of the job, including standing and walking for most of the shift, bending, lifting, pulling, and pushing up to 30 pounds.
