Job summary

Pacific West Site Services, Inc. in Marysville, OH is seeking a Custodian to maintain cleanliness and sanitation across assigned areas, following safety rules and company procedures.

Qualifications

• No formal education requirement; 3-6 months training or experience preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• May require valid driver's license. Completion of safety and task training certification. Forklift certification may be required.
• Bilingual is a plus; read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals and other documents; strong verbal and written communication; knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment; upkeep and care of cleaning equipment; knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe use.

Custodian

Job Overview

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all areas assigned.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial duties
• Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule
• Perform Hazardous Waste responsibilities including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, packaging of special and hazardous waste.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor
• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures
• Stop at risk behavior of others and self
• Perform work assignments in a team with other employees
• Perform repetitive tasks
• Maintain clean work area
• Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules
• Take direction and respond to supervision
• Talk with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner
• Fill in during staff shortage
• Support shift lead in completing punch-list items
• Use proper personal protective equipment
• Present a professional appearance and conduct
• Understand customer service and satisfaction
• Understand reporting systems, and of the environment

Education and/ or Experience

No specific education requirement, 3-6 months training or experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

May be required to have a valid driver's license. Completed all safety and task training certification. May be required to be forklift certified.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Bilingual a plus
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with team
• Knowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment
• Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Shifts and Compensation

Monday - Friday, 4:30pm - 12:30am.

$15.50-$16.50 per hour.

Additional Requirements

Must be able to meet company requirements for driving, including maintaining current vehicle registration and auto insurance where use of a personal vehicle is necessary for the role.
