Job summary

Pacific West Site Services, Inc. is seeking a Custodian to maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all assigned areas. The role includes janitorial duties, operating motorized cleaning equipment, and adhering to safety and company procedures.

Qualifications include 3-6 months of training or experience preferred, with potential need for a valid driver’s license and forklift certification. Bilingual abilities are a plus, and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• Education and/ or Experience: No specific education requirement, 3-6 months training or experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: May be required to have a valid driver's license. Completed all safety and task training certification. May be required to be forklift certified.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: bilingual a plus; read and interpret instructions; strong verbal and written communication; knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment; upkeep of cleaning equipment; knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe use.

Custodian

Job Overview

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all areas assigned.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial duties
• Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule
• Perform Hazardous Waste responsibilities including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, packaging of special and hazardous waste.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor
• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures
• Stop at risk behavior of others and self
• Perform work assignments in a team with other employees
• Perform repetitive tasks
• Maintain clean work area
• Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules
• Take direction and respond to supervision
• Talk with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner
• Fill in during staff shortage
• Support shift lead in completing punch-list items
• Use proper personal protective equipment
• Present a professional appearance and conduct
• Understand customer service and satisfaction
• Understand reporting systems, and of the environment
