Job summary

Hancock School in Coastal Maine is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Custodian for afternoons/evenings. This year-round position supports a clean, safe learning environment and may require evenings, weekends, and overtime. Pay is $19.00–$24.00 per hour,Experience-based compensation.

Responsibilities include cleaning, maintenance, and safety compliance in a school setting.

Qualifications

• Prior custodial or maintenance experience preferred.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and supplies.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Shift: May be Afternoon/Evening

Compensation: Competitive, based on experience

The Hancock School is seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our team as a Full-Time Custodian.

This position plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the school buildings in a clean and orderly condition.


• Perform heavy cleaning duties such as:

  • Shampooing rugs and carpets.
  
  
  • Washing walls, windows, and glass surfaces.

• Monitor and maintain heating systems, including furnace and boiler operation.


• Perform minor maintenance concerns or necessary repairs.


• Notify management of larger maintenance concerns or necessary repairs.


• Clear snow and debris from sidewalks and school safety and sanitation policies.


• Ensure compliance with school safety and sanitation policies.


• May be required to work evenings, early mornings, weekends, and occasional overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic cleaning techniques and equipment operations.
