Job summary

Hooveralabama is hiring a custodian to keep facilities clean in Hoover, Alabama. You will follow posted policies, operate basic cleaning equipment, and maintain hygienic conditions across floors, walls and fixtures.

Starting pay is $17.04 per hour. A valid driver's license and the ability to obtain Hoover City Driver's Permit are preferred; one year of custodial experience is a plus. This full-time role requires attention to safety procedures and reliability for cleaning tasks.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, understand and follow oral and/or written policies, procedures and instructions.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffer/sweeper, etc.
• One (1) year or more of paid custodial experience.
• Possession of a valid driver's license and the ability to obtain/maintain a City of Hoover Driver's Permit.

Responsibilities

• Washes floors, furnishings, equipment, windows, doors and walls with cleaning solutions and disinfectants; prepares cleaning solutions and disinfectants; cleans and scrubs basins, sinks, lavatories and toilets; replenishes soap, tissue, towels and similar supplies; dusts, wipes and clean cabinets, closets, shelves, vents, showers, pictures and desks; collects trash and empties garbage; picks up trash from outside of buildings; sweeps, mops and dusts floors, strips floor of old wax, applies new wax and buffs; performs related duties as required.
