Fairview Range is hiring a Custodian for our Housekeeping department in Hibbing, MN. As a custodian, you will perform a variety of support service functions as well as project-type work and cleaning to keep the facility orderly, aesthetically attractive, clean and sanitary.

Responsibilities
  • Maintains hard surface floors, project cleans, and maintains hard surface and carpeted floors.
  • Uses proper technique to clean and refinish hard surface floors and extract carpeted floors.
  • Applies appropriate seal and finish to floors.
  • Uses caution signs and controls traffic while doing projects.
  • Coordinates project cleaning to avoid disrupting workflow; communicates with departments and plans the workflow.
  • Moves furniture and returns it to proper locations.
  • Provides a superior level of cleaning quality in an assigned area in alignment with department procedures and protocol.
  • Uses proper chemicals and dilution ratios; ensures supplies are replenished.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and application of infection control standards, isolation room cleaning, PPE, and hand hygiene techniques.
  • Follows procedures for assigned areas and documents work assignments.
  • Properly handles and disposes of regulated, non-regulated and recyclable waste.
  • Works independently and remains flexible to change in assignments; may switch or take on Environmental Service Assistant duties as needed.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of linen processes; distributes linen to locations, documents weights, adjusts par levels, and removes stained/damaged linen from inventory.
  • Complies with all relevant laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates successful completion of cleaning standards by evidence of quality inspections.
Required Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
Preferred Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Six months verifiable experience in refinishing hard surface flooring and carpet cleaning

Compensation

The posted compensation range corresponds to the minimum and maximum pay rates in the union agreement for the job classifications at the time of posting. Individual pay may vary based on FTE, skills, education, and experience. If eligible for a sign-on bonus, the approved program at the time of offer will be honored.
