Job summary

Metz Environmental Services in the Greencastle area is hiring a School Custodian. You will perform floor care, cleaning, and upkeep of classrooms, restrooms, gym floors, and common areas, with duties including event setup and snow/ice management as needed.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, scrub, strip, wax and buff floors and hallways.
• Clean gym floors and other assigned areas.
• Vacuum carpets and upholstery.
• Sanitize restrooms and replenish supplies.
• Set up/tear down spaces for events.
• Shovel snow and sand/salt walkways as needed.
• Report repair needs and assist with relocations.
• Assist with general building maintenance and safety.

Duties & Responsibilities Include:

• Sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, stripping, waxing, buffing of floors, hallways, stairwells and other facility areas
• Cleaning and refinishing gym floors as needed
• Vacuuming and shampooing rugs and carpets
• Cleaning, polishing and dusting of furniture and fixtures
• Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms and replenishing supplies
• Washing windows, walls, mirrors and other areas
• Collecting and disposing of all waste products
• Assisting with the relocation of property
• Reporting of items requiring repair and/or replacement
• Setting up/tearing down areas needed for special events or meetings
• Shoveling/plowing snow, sanding/salting walks and steps as needed
• Picking up debris outside of building
• Working sporting events as needed
• Performing all other duties assigned by administration or the General Manager
