Job summary

Purdue University Fort Wayne is seeking a full-time, on-site Custodian in the Building Services department. This role maintains custodial duties across assigned buildings and pays $15/hr.

Primary responsibilities include daily cleaning of classrooms, offices, labs, restrooms, stairwells and hallways, trash removal, and floor care. A background check is required and the university does not sponsor employment authorization.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to operate commercial floor care equipment and climb ladders.
• Move, lift, carry, push and pull 10 to 25 pounds frequently and up to 40 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily general cleaning in classrooms, offices, labs, restrooms, stairwells and hallways.
• Trash removal.
• Floor care including sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, stripping and refinishing floors, carpet cleaning.
• Assist with special event setup and removal of tables and chairs.
• Ensure adequate cleaning supplies are in stock.
• Perform routine facility and equipment inspections and inform supervisor of needed repairs.
