Job summary

The Archdiocese of St. Louis is seeking a Custodian to maintain clean, safe, and welcoming school facilities, supporting the mission of Catholic education.

Shift is second shift (3PM - 11PM) with duties including cleaning classrooms, restrooms, offices, and common areas; event setup; and snow removal as needed. Candidates should be able to lift 50 lbs and work both indoors and outdoors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous custodial experience preferred.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and perform physical tasks.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and the mission of Catholic education.
• Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor settings, with exposure to cleaning chemicals and equipment noise.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning and sanitizing of classrooms, restrooms, offices, hallways, cafeteria, gym, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and polish floors and surfaces as needed.
• Refill restroom supplies and empty trash/recycling bins throughout the facility.
• Set up and tear down for events, meetings, and school functions.
• Assist with snow removal and salting of walkways during inclement weather.
• Report any safety hazards or needed repairs to the Facilities Director.

This role supports the mission of St. Pius X Catholic High School by providing a welcoming and well-kept environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
