Job summary

University is hiring for full-time cleaning staff to maintain interior spaces across multiple campus buildings in East Hartford, CT. Two shift options run 8:00 am–4:30 pm and 11:00 am–7:30 pm.

Responsibilities include cleaning and sanitizing offices, classrooms, restrooms, cafeterias, labs, and libraries, using standard procedures while supporting a safe work environment. Benefits are provided to eligible staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 1 to 2 weeks training.
• Passing of pre-employment screening.
• Commitment to safety and proper cleaning procedures.

Position Description Summary/Purpose:

This position performs routine cleaning of interior areas of all University buildings.

We have the following open positions:

Full-Time Shift: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

Full-Time Shift: 11:00 am – 7:30 pm

Essential Job Functions/Primary Responsibilities:

• Cleans, dusts, disinfects, vacuums, sweeps, mops as appropriate all interior areas of School buildings including offices, classrooms, conference rooms and learning centers, restrooms, cafeteria, computer rooms, laboratories, libraries, lounge areas, furniture, closets and windows.
• Tasks performed are standardized.
• Conducts all work in a safe manner and follows all work safety practices.

Other Functions:

• Performs similar or related work as required, directed or as situation permits.
• Continues professional development and training; keeps current with trends.
• Assists other department staff as needed to promote a team effort.

• Knowledge of cleaning methods and procedures; knowledge of the materials, supplies and equipment used in cleaning activities
