Job summary

Excel Fitness in Desoto, TX is seeking a reliable team member to perform custodial duties in our fitness club environment. You will thoroughly clean restrooms, locker rooms, showers, and gym areas, ensuring surfaces are free of dust and handprints.

Responsibilities include operating floor scrubbers and vacuums, assisting at the front desk as needed, and maintaining orderly storage rooms. Excellent attendance and communication with members are essential.

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly clean and sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, shower rooms, stalls, walls, doors, and waste areas.
• Inspect and clean windows and frames (interior and exterior).
• Detail clean baseboards, trim, walls, and handrails; surfaces free of dust/handprints.
• Dust air vents, TVs, signage, storage/glass doors, and light fixtures.
• Assist in front desk operations; use of Point of Sale.
• Follow cleaning lists and other assigned tasks.
• Trash removal across all waste areas.
• Clean gym flooring, under equipment with vacuum/floor scrubber/mop.
• Operate floor scrubber and vacuum cleaner.
• Communicate with members to provide high-level service.
• Keep storage rooms clean and organized; stock shelves appropriately.
• Notify management when supplies are low.

Job description

Reports to: General Manager (GM) / Assistant Manager (AM)

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Thoroughly clean and sanitize restrooms, locker room areas, shower rooms, stall walls and doors, and all waste areas.
• Inspect and clean all windows and window frames, both interior and exterior.
• Detail clean all baseboards, wall trim, walls, and handrails throughout the facility. Must ensure that all surfaces are free of handprints, scuff marks,and dust.
• All air vents, TVs, signage, storage or glass doors,and light fixtures must be dusted and cleaned.
• Assistin front desk operations as needed, including use of Point of Sale.
• Follow cleaning lists and other assigned tasks.
• Trash from all waste areas must be removed or “pushed down”.
• All rubber or tile flooring must be cleaned throughout the gym floor, including auxiliary rooms and under gym equipment with theuse of avacuum, floor scrubber, and mop.
• Use and knowledge of operating floor scrubber and vacuum cleaner.
• Communicate with members and create a high level of memberservice.
• All storage rooms must remain clean andorganized and productsproperly arranged on shelving racks. All loose boxes and trash must be discarded.
• Notify club management if inventory for cleaning supplies is low and needs replenishment.

Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment: This job operates in a fitness club environment and routinely uses standard custodial equipment such as cleaning chemicals, floor scrubbers and vacuums. The noise level in the club environment may be loud on a regular basis. Will be required to operatein lavatory areas.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This may be either a full-time OR part-time, nonexempt position. A nonexempt Team Player is one who is entitled to the minimum wage and/or overtime pay protections of the FLSA.

Scheduled work hours per week will be set during normal club hours of operation and determined by business need. Full-Time employees are ones that regularly work at least 30 hours per week. Part-Time employees are ones that regularly work 29 hours per week or less. Availability of full-time and part-time positions are dependent on business need. This position may work outside of regularly scheduled shift hours to include mornings, evenings, weekends, and overnight as required. Workhours are subject to change at any time depending on business needs.
