Job summary

Qualtronics in Columbus, IN is seeking a part-time Custodian to maintain cleanliness and order across indoor and outdoor areas. The role involves routine cleaning, trash removal, restrooms, floor care, and basic maintenance tasks in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate can stand for long periods, handle cleaning chemicals safely, and work M-W-F 1:30 PM–5:30 PM. Pay is $16 per hour and benefits may be limited, depending on schedule.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of standard cleaning methods and procedures.
• Ability to stand, walk, and bend for long hours.
• Ability to perform repetitive motion for long periods.
• Experience with using cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and cleaning solutions.
• Background in handling, mixing, and using cleaning chemicals.
• Knowledge of occupational hazards safety rules.
• Communication skills.
• Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders and work at heights.

Responsibilities

• Keeps building and property clean and orderly.

• Cleans floors with vacuums, mops, and buffers.
• Gathers and empties trash.
• Cleans and sanitizes restrooms.
• Dusts furniture, walls, and equipment.
• Cleans windows, mirrors, and partitions.
• Follows chemical safety procedures and uses cleaning solutions properly.
• Notifies managers regarding repairs or system needs.

Job description

Part Time: M-W-F 1:30PM-5:30PM

Pay: $16/hr

Custodian Daily Duties and Responsibilities

• Keeps building and property (Indoor & outdoor) in clean and orderly condition.
• Performs routine maintenance activities.
• Performs heavy cleaning duties.
• Sweeps, mops, scrubs, or vacuums floors.
• Gathers and empties trash.
• Scrubs, sanitizes, and supplies restroom facilities.
• Dusts furniture, walls, and equipment.
• Cleans windows, mirrors, and partitions with soap and other cleansers.
• Mixes cleaning solutions and chemicals in containers in preparation for cleaning, according to instructions.
• Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power machinery to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Cleans and polishes fixtures and furniture.
• Shampoos or steam-cleans carpets and rugs.
• Cleans and polishes furniture and fixtures.
• Manages inventory of cleaning supplies.
• Notifies managers regarding the need for repairs or additions to building operating systems.
