Description

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Clean and disinfect restrooms, locker rooms, child care centerfacilities, swim centers, food service areas, and health facilitiesincluding floors, walls, fixtures, appliances, and mirrors; restocksupplies; polish metal fixtures. E
  • Wash and clean accessible interior and exterior windows, ledges,and walls. E
  • Pressure wash buildings and walkways; clean drinking fountains andgrease traps; clean and refresh floor drains. E
  • Move furniture and equipment; set up cafeteria, auditorium,gymnasium, meeting rooms, classrooms, and other areas for indoorand outdoor special events and meetings. E
  • Perform minor non-technical repairs to buildings and fixtures;replace lights; clean and adjust blinds; adjust desks and otherfurniture; identify and report other repair and maintenance needsand assist others in making repairs. E
  • Turn lights on and off; unlock and lock doors and gates; raise andlower flags. E
  • Respond to urgent requests for immediate custodial assistance andother urgent safety and operational concerns. E
  • Participate as part of a cleaning crew, as directed, for majorcleaning assignments. E
  • Provide information and assistance to students, faculty, staff, andthe general public regarding locations of various campusfacilities. E
  • Operate a vehicle to perform assigned duties such as picking up anddelivering supplies, equipment, and other materials as directed. E
  • Attend safety and in-service training. E
  • Work collaboratively and professionally with faculty, staff,students, and stakeholders from diverse academic, socioeconomic,cultural, disability, gender identity, and ethnic communities. E
  • Demonstrate cultural humility, sensitivity, and equity-mindednessin working with individuals from diverse communities; modelinclusive behaviors; and achieve equity in assignment-relatedoutcomes. E

ELIGIBILITY LIST: Upon completion of the examination, the eligibility list will becompiled by combining the final examination score with applicableseniority and veteran's credits, if any. The candidates will beranked according to their total score on the eligibility list.Certification will be made from the highest three ranks of theeligibility list. This eligibility list will be used to fillcurrent vacancies for up to one year from the date of the technicalinterview.

PROBATIONARY PERIOD

All regularappointments made from eligibility lists for initial appointment orfor promotion, with certain exceptions, shall be probationary for aperiod of six (6) months or one hundred thirty (130) days of paidservice, whichever is longer. Classified management, police, anddesignated executive classifications shall be probationary for aperiod of one (1) year of paid service from initial appointment orpromotion.
