Job summary

An established educational institution in Bloomfield Hills is looking for Custodians for full-time shifts to maintain cleanliness and order across the campus. Responsibilities include cleaning floors, disinfecting bathrooms, and performing maintenance duties as needed. Ideal candidates will have a valid Michigan driver's license and custodial experience is desirable. Compensation starts at $18.20/hour with added premiums for certain shifts. The Custodian is responsible for performing work associated with the maintenance and cleaning of buildings, furniture, grounds, sidewalks, vehicles and the equipment and tools needed for these tasks.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain floors, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, stripping, and waxing and shampooing carpets.
• Wash windows and walls.
• Clean/disinfect bathrooms, including sinks, toilets, floors, etc.
• Dust and polish furniture and fixtures.
• Perform miscellaneous maintenance duties, e.g., change light bulbs, empty trash, hang decorations, and supply paper towel and tissue dispensers.
• Pick up debris and litter on grounds.
• Remove snow and ice from stairs and entranceways to buildings during winter months.

Requirements

• Valid Michigan driver's license with satisfactory driving record.
• Experience in the use and maintenance of building and cleaning equipment and tools desirable.
• Experience in the use of cleaning chemicals and solvents desirable.
• Previous institutional custodial experience desirable.

Shifts and Compensation

Full-Time positions available - Shifts are:

• Monday - Friday, 3:00pm - 11:30pm
• Monday - Friday, 4:00pm - 12:30am
• Monday - Wednesday, 3:30pm - Midnight and Saturday/Sunday 7:00am - 3:30pm

Rate of pay is $18.20/hour. Afternoon shift and weekend shift is eligible for a $1.00 per hour shift premium.
