The Marco Group in Austin, TX is hiring a Custodian to maintain clean, sanitary conditions across offices, laboratories, and common areas. This full-time role requires attention to detail and the ability to work independently in a warehouse-style environment.

Responsibilities

• Sweep and mop lobby and hallways.
• Clean tables and arrange chairs.
• Dust desks without disturbing documents or equipment.
• Vacuum office carpets.
• Sweep lab floors and mop as needed.
• Empty trash and replace liners.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms (1st and 2nd floor).
• Restock restroom supplies and break room items.
• Clean break rooms and restock supplies.
• Collect and dispose of trash from various areas.
• Maintain clear walkways and control slip hazards.
• Monitor inventory and request replenishment.
• Keep equipment and storage areas organized.
• Follow product labels and safety procedures for chemicals.
• Use PPE and wet-floor signs as required.
• Report damages or unsafe conditions to supervisor.
• Perform other janitorial duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $14.00 To $15.00 Hourly

POSITION SUMMARY

The Janitorial Employee maintains clean, sanitary, and orderly conditions throughout Permalite offices, restrooms, break rooms, common areas, and designated production support areas.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Sweep and mop the front lobby and hallway floors.
• Clean tables and keep chairs neatly arranged.
• Clean and dust office and laboratory desks without disturbing documents, equipment, or laboratory materials.
• Vacuum all office carpets.
• Sweep laboratory floors and mop as needed.
• Empty trash containers throughout the office areas and replace liners.
• Clean and disinfect first- and second-floor restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors.
• Replenish toilet paper, paper towels, soap, and other restroom supplies.
• Clean first- and second-floor break rooms, including tables, counters, sinks, and floors.
• Restock designated break room supplies and empty trash containers.
• Collect and dispose of trash from Shipping and Maintenance areas.
• Sweep common areas and pick up trash.
• Collect trash around the building and dispose of it in designated containers.
• Keep assigned areas free of cleaning-related obstructions and slip hazards.
• Monitor cleaning supply inventory and request replenishment before supplies run out.
• Keep cleaning equipment and storage areas clean and organized.
• Follow product labels and company procedures for using, labeling, and storing cleaning chemicals.
• Use required personal protective equipment and wet-floor signs.
• Promptly report damage, leaks, unsafe conditions, and needed repairs to the supervisor or manager.
• Perform other related janitorial duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous janitorial or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to follow cleaning schedules, safety procedures, and written or verbal instructions.
• Familiarity with basic cleaning tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work independently.
• Ability to communicate supply needs and maintenance concerns promptly.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The position requires standing and walking for extended periods; using stairs; bending, reaching, and performing repetitive cleaning tasks; and moving cleaning supplies, equipment, and trash, with or without reasonable accommodation.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work performed in a warehouse environment with exposure to moderate noise, moving equipment, and temperature variations.
