Job summary

U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs is seeking a lodging attendant for Rampart Lodge. This Regular, non-appropriated fund position offers a guaranteed minimum 20 hours per week and a starting pay of $18.22 per hour.

You will clean and maintain lodging facilities, vacuum, scrub floors, wash linens, and handle laundry services. Seasonal duties include snow removal and yard work, with opportunities to contribute to a well‑run guest environment. This position is with the U.S.

• Provides bulk laundry services and distributes linens at VQ/TLF; operates industrial washers/dryers.
• Performs seasonal tasks (snow removal, lawn care) and reports maintenance needs.

About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Rampart Lodge, Air Force Academy, Colorado. Recruitment Incentives included: New Hire Recruitment bonus of $1,000 apply. This position does include benefits.

Key Responsibilities

Maintains lodging facilities in an orderly and clean manner. Vacuum cleans rugs and draperies. Sweeps, mops, strips, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors using industrial type power equipment. Adjusts and changes buffers, brushes and other attachments on power equipment. Dusts, waxes, and polishes furniture. Dusts ledges and woodwork. Empties ash trays and wastebaskets. Polishes door knobs and other metal fixtures.

Cleans glass partitions, inside and outside windows, using stepladders and extension ladders. Cleans mirrors and water fountains. Replaces deodorizers, toilet tissue, hand towels, and soap. Reports water leaks, clogged drains, and other conditions requiring maintenance to supervisor. Maintains supply of cleaning materials and advises supervisor when more supplies are needed, or when equipment needs repair or replacement.

Provides bulk laundry services for items such as sheets, towels, bath rugs, etc. Collects, counts and tallies bundles of soiled linens in preparation for the VQ/TLF. Drives small special purpose vehicle to pick up soiled linens and distribute clean linens at VQ and TLF as well as restock clean linens. Operates industrial type washers and dryers ensuring machines are properly loaded.

Lifts, moves, counts, sorts, bundles, washes, dries, folds, and sorts of linens, cleaning rags, and other items suitable for laundering. Completes laundry receiving and issuance reports either by hand or by computer. Inspects the quality, quantity, and types of items being submitted for laundering. Cleans laundry machines and facilities.

Performs seasonal tasks as required, such as, applying ice control material to entrances of buildings, shoveling snow, picking up litter around buildings, mowing grass, and watering lawns around buildings. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
