Job summary

Universal Creighton, Philadelphia, PA, is seeking a Custodial Worker to maintain the cleanliness of the school building, following required cleaning procedures, and supporting a safe, orderly environment for students and staff.

You will sweep, mop, vacuum, empty trash, clean restrooms, and assist with decor setup for meetings or events. The role requires a High School Diploma or Equivalent, reliability, and weekend availability. Reports to the Custodial Supervisor; full-time, 12-month position.

Responsibilities

• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
• Gather and empty all trash.
• Clean and supply restrooms and polish furniture and fixtures.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, doors, walls using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
• Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
• Steam-clean or shampoo carpets.
• Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.
• Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks.
• Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, for board meetings and events.
• Perform related duties as required.
