Responsibilities

• Clean areas up to 30+ feet high (ceilings, vents, light fixtures, walls, pool area lights).
• Clean carpets, upholstered areas and hard surface floors.
• Set up, repair and perform preventive maintenance on department equipment.
• Inform management of problems, equipment malfunctions and hazards.
• Complete duties per SOPs (e.g., shampooing carpets/upholstery, stripping/waxing floors, burnishing).
• Maintain clean working areas (storage closets/equipment).

Job description

Pay Rate: $21.00 an hour with $2.00 an hour additional shift differential on swing and grave shift

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Clean areas 30+ feet high (such as ceilings, vents, light fixtures, walls, pool area lights, etc.) and other areas needing ladders over 6-feet or the use of a mechanical lift


• Clean carpets, upholstered areas and hard surface floors


• Set-up, repair and perform preventive maintenance on department equipment


• Inform management of any problems, equipment malfunctions and/or hazards


• Complete duties as per standard operating procedures (such as shampooing carpets and upholstery, stripping and waxing floors, burnishing, etc.)


• Maintain clean working areas (such as storage closets and equipment)

Knowledge And Certification, Skills And Abilities

Preferred Knowledge and Certification:

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience


• Previous janitorial experience

• Must have the ability to independently lift 25+ pounds routinely

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

• Work is performed throughout the property and may include excessive noise, dust and chemical fumes, flashing lights, frequent loud noises and cigarette smoke


• Must be able to work in cramped, tight quarters


• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including all shifts, weekends and holidays


• Must handle hazardous materials


• Occasionally must deal with angry or hostile individuals
