Job summary

South Dakota State Government is seeking a Custodial Supervisor to lead and coordinate custodial operations, ensuring clean, safe, and well-maintained facilities. You will oversee daily workflows, train staff, monitor standards, enforce safety procedures, and manage supplies and equipment in collaboration with Facility Operations leadership. A strong emphasis on safety and efficiency will guide daily tasks and event support.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising custodial staff.
• Ability to lift and move equipment.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Arrange work schedules, assign work areas, and conduct inspections.
• Oversee preparation and cleanup for special events.
• Interview, hire, train, discipline, and evaluate staff performance.
• Maintain adequate inventory of cleaning supplies and ensure expenditures remain within budget.
• Recommend equipment or material replacements as needed.
• Identify and report facility or equipment repair needs to prevent further damage.
