Job summary

The Delaware Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) is seeking a Custodial Supervisor I to oversee custodial operations, ensuring safety, cleanliness, and efficient inventory management.

You will supervise staff, coordinate supplies, train personnel, and use automated systems to track work orders and inventory, reporting to a technical supervisor and maintaining compliance with policies.

Qualifications

• Six months' experience in performing institutional or office custodial work.
• Knowledge of record keeping.
• Knowledge of staff supervision acquired through coursework, training, or leading others.

Responsibilities

• Performs custodial work using equipment and techniques in compliance with laws and safety standards.
• Cleans walls, floors, carpets by mopping, scrubbing, waxing, and vacuuming.
• Uses cleaning tools and chemicals safely and effectively.
• Dusts and polishes furniture and cleans windows and mirrors.
• Maintains, replenishes, or replaces supplies and moves furniture as needed.
• Uses information systems to enter, update, or report data.
• Operates custodial equipment such as vacuums and buffers.
