Job summary

HES in New Orleans, LA is seeking a Facilities Cleaning Lead to oversee daily upkeep of assigned areas, perform cleaning tasks, report issues, and assist in training staff.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, vacuum, remove trash, and clean/restrooms and locker rooms.
• Strip and wax floors; polish windows and entry areas.
• Report building conditions and assist custodial supervisor; train other staff as needed.

Job Skills / Requirements

Leads are responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of all assigned areas. Supervisors perform any combination of cleaning duties to maintain the daily upkeep and cleanliness of the facilityLeads are responsible for helping check out the condition of the building and reporting issues to the manager. Supervisors also help cleaning other areas due to any staff shortages or when needed for other reasons. Supervisors also may train other employees.Essential Functions:Sweeping, dusting, dust mopping, damp mopping, vacuuming, extracting carpet, stripping and waxing floors, removing trash, recycling, cleaning and sanitizing restrooms and locker rooms, polishing outside area within 10 feet of entryways, washing windows, removal or snow and ice, cleaning of desks/walls/ furniture/ doors/ entry glass/ interior glass/countertops/chalkboards/ whiteboards/blinds and light fixtures, and any other duties as directed by custodial supervisor or his/her designated representative.Job Requirements:Excellent work historyTeam focused approach requiring ability to work with others and take directionPhysically demanding fast-paced environment requiring ability to work efficiently with attention to detailReliable transportation (evening buses are not always reliable)Candidates are subject to Background checkMinimum QualificationsEducation: High school degree preferred, but not required.Experience: Previous cleaning experience requited.Floor experience required (waxing).Physical and Working ConditionsThe physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the duties of this job.
