Job summary

SBM Management Services, LP in Ridgefield, NJ, is seeking a Custodial Supervisor to direct the daily work of custodial staff, inspect areas for cleanliness and safety, and ensure compliance with sanitation standards and OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities include scheduling, hiring, training, and evaluating personnel; coordinating supplies and equipment; conducting regular quality and safety inspections; addressing issues, and reporting to the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent combinations of education and experience considered.
  • Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily.
  • May require valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and supervise custodial activities.
  • Train staff in tasks, safety, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure services meet site needs and comply with regulations.
  • Conduct regular quality, service, and safety inspections and report results.
  • Advise supervisor on deficiencies and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Interview, hire, plan, assign, and direct work; manage performance.
  • Ensure proper use of PPE and compliance with SBM policies.

Title: Custodial Supervisor Job Description: Job Overview

The Custodial Supervisor will be responsible for the assignment and direct supervision of custodial employees in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the assigned areas. The supervisor will inspect areas, equipment, and working conditions to ensure compliance with sanitation and OSHA regulations.

Roles & Responsibilities

Coordinate and supervise the activities of employees in the Custodial program Train and instruct employees in tasks, safety, policies, and procedures Ensure that custodial services meet the needs of the site Ensure custodial personnel have the equipment and supplies necessary to perform their job Issues supplies to custodians as needed Conduct regular quality, service, and safety inspections of assigned areas and reporting the results of the inspections with particular emphasis on needed repairs Evaluate and recommend new custodial supplies and equipment by conducting testing Ensure specified contract services are provided by the contractor by inspecting the work performed Advises the immediate supervisor when shortcomings or other deficiencies of work are noted Report employee personnel and customer issues to supervisor Report accidents and incidents to the supervisor immediately Carry out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws Interview, hire, plans, assign, and direct work Ensure each team member works in conformance with SBM policies and procedures Ensure operational excellence through training, coaching, disciplining, and encouragement of team members Address complaints and resolve problems Ensure employees are properly trained on tasks and safety requirements Monitor employees for proper use of personal protective equipment, and supplies Provide recommendations for corrective action on areas that need improvement Review and maintain employee's records such as attendance and metric data Correct at risk behavior then reports to the supervisor immediately

Education and/ or Experience

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Facilities Management, or a related field is preferred. Candidates with an equivalent combination of education, technical training, professional certifications, and progressively responsible experience leading facilities, operations, janitorial, manufacturing, or service teams will also be considered.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

May be required to have a valid driver's license.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Carrys out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning, and directing work; performance evaluations; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Ensure employees are properly trained on tasks and safety requirements.

Schedule: Monday to Friday - 6:00am-4:00pm Salary: $58,000 annually
