Job summary

The University of Kentucky seeks a seasoned supervisor to lead Campus Custodial Services within Facilities Management. You will oversee daily operations, direct a team of custodians, and coordinate with vendors to maintain clean, safe campus facilities in classrooms and laboratories.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of supervisory experience, plus a preference for holders of a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of supervision experience required.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise custodial teams and manage operations.
• Driver’s license preferred.

Responsibilities

• provides work management and administrative direction for the Facilities Management Campus Custodial Services Department
• Ensures sanitation and general cleanliness of all Campus facilities, including buildings, classrooms, laboratories, etc.
• Interacts with vendors/contractors for various services
• Coordinates with Campus trucking for waste management and pest control, as required
• Coordinates with grounds services, as required, including coordinating snow removal efforts for all buildings and facilities
• Coordinates all services requirements through direct interaction with supervisors, customers, and vendors
• Monitors daily operations
• Implements continuous improvements in methodology, work activities, and performance standards.

Physical Requirements

Standing or walking with objects up to 25lbs; Sitting at computer work station for extended periods; Repetitive motion; May be exposed to loud noises, fumes, confined spaces, and/or temperature extremes while reviewing jobsites. While some work is done in an office, frequently work is out in the field overseeing team or zone assigned areas and may be exposed to elements, weather, and other non-office type conditions.

Shift

8:00am – 5:00pm (Monday-Friday).

Hours of work may vary dependent upon situational factors and may require some night(s), weekend(s), and holiday(s)response, if necessary.
