Job Requirements: The Custodial/Maintenance Assistant is responsible for upkeep, cleaning, and maintenance of the County Courthouse, Government Center, Jail, and other buildings maintained by the department. The role may serve as back-up or perform Building Maintenance Technician duties under supervision. The standard work week is Monday through Friday, with occasional after-hours and weekend work for snow and ice removal, on a rotation basis. The position is night shift, from 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM, with a $0.30/hour shift differential.
Responsibilities include general cleaning, replenishing supplies, minor maintenance and painting, groundskeeping, moving furniture, and assisting with repairs. The role involves loading/unloading supplies, assisting technicians, serving as backup, and setting up for meetings. Punctuality and adaptability are essential. Other duties may be assigned.
Experience and Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED preferred; 3-5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Knowledge of cleaning, grounds, and building systems, safety rules, and maintenance practices required.
