Job summary

SBM is seeking a Custodial Lead to supervise cleaning staff, perform janitorial duties, and ensure safe, efficient operations. The role emphasizes scheduling, training, and accountability under the Custodial Supervisor, with a focus on quality and safety.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, at least 1 year of related experience, and CPR/AED/First Aid certification, with potential forklift certification and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, and chemicals, and their safe use.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial duties.
• Provide work direction and assistance to custodians as directed by Custodial Supervisor.
• Assist Custodial Supervisor in scheduling and training staff as needed.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment.
• Track equipment inventory, maintenance, and repair.
• Schedule clean up and repairs as needed.
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area.
• Track and maintain supply inventory.
• Assist Custodial Supervisor in purchasing cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Perform quality, service, and safety inspections.
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
• Report employee personnel and customer issues to supervisor.
• Monitor employees for proper use of PPE, and supplies.
• Correct at risk behavior and report to the supervisor immediately.
• Provide recommendations for corrective action on areas that need improvement.

• Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule
• Provide work direction and assistance to custodians as directed by Custodial Supervisor
• Assist Custodial Supervisor in scheduling and training staff as needed

• Education and/ or Experience: High school diploma / GED required.
• At least 1-year related experience
• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: CPR/AED/First Aid certification .
• May be required to have a valid driver’s license.
• Completed all safety and task training certification.
• May be required to be forklift certified
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with team
• Knowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment
• Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use

Shifts and Compensation

Monday-Friday: 6:00PM-10:00PM $19.00-$20.00 per hour
