Job summary

SBM Management Services, LP is seeking a Custodial Lead in Columbus, Ohio to oversee cleaning operations and provide guidance to custodial staff. You will ensure cleanliness, safety, and sanitation in assigned areas and report to the Custodial Supervisor.

The role requires a high school diploma, at least one year of related experience, and the ability to operate cleaning equipment. Shifts are Monday through Friday, 5pm to 1:30am, with a pay rate of $16-$17 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of related custodial experience.
• CPR/AED/First Aid certification may be required.
• Valid driver’s license may be required.
• May require forklift certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial duties and follow daily schedule.
• Provide work direction to custodial staff as directed.
• Schedule and train staff as needed.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment.
• Track equipment inventory, maintenance, and repair.
• Perform quality, service, and safety inspections.
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.

Title: Custodial Lead

Job Overview

The Custodial Lead will be responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of the areas assigned and provides some work direction to custodial staff.

Roles & Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully and safely, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.

• Perform janitorial duties
• Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule
• Provide work direction and assistance to custodians as directed by Custodial Supervisor
• Assist Custodial Supervisor in scheduling and training staff as needed
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment
• Track equipment inventory, maintenance, and repair
• Schedule clean up and repairs as needed
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area
• Track and maintain supply inventory
• Assist Custodial Supervisor in purchasing cleaning supplies and equipment
• Perform quality, service, and safety inspections
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor
• Report employee personnel and customer issues to supervisor
• Monitor employees for proper use of personal protective equipment, and supplies
• Correct at risk behavior and report to the supervisor immediately
• Provide recommendations for corrective action on areas that need improvement

Education and/ or Experience

High school diploma / GED required. At least 1-year related experience

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

CPR/AED/First Aid certification . May be required to have a valid driver’s license. Completed all safety and task training certification. May be required to be forklift certified

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with team
• Knowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment
• Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use
