Job summary

SBM Management Services, LP is seeking a Custodial Lead in Aurora, IL to oversee cleanliness and sanitation of assigned areas and provide guidance to custodial staff. The role includes directing daily tasks and ensuring safety and quality standards.

The position requires at least 1 year of related experience, a high school diploma or GED, and applicable certifications. Shifts run Sunday through Wednesday with a competitive hourly rate.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year related custodial/maintenance experience.
• CPR/AED/First Aid certification is required or may be required.
• Forklift certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial duties and duties on the daily schedule.
• Provide work direction to custodial staff as directed by Custodial Supervisor.
• Assist in scheduling and training staff as needed.
• Operate cleaning equipment and monitor inventory.
• Report incidents and safety concerns to supervisor.
• Maintain and inspect cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Job Overview

The Custodial Lead will be responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of the areas assigned and provides some work direction to custodial staff.

Roles & Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully and safely, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.

• Perform janitorial duties

• Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule

• Provide work direction and assistance to custodians as directed by Custodial Supervisor

• Assist Custodial Supervisor in scheduling and training staff as needed

• Operate motorized cleaning equipment

• Track equipment inventory, maintenance, and repair

• Schedule clean up and repairs as needed

• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area

• Track and maintain supply inventory

• Assist Custodial Supervisor in purchasing cleaning supplies and equipment

• Perform quality, service, and safety inspections

• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor

• Report employee personnel and customer issues to supervisor

• Monitor employees for proper use of personal protective equipment, and supplies

• Correct at risk behavior and report to the supervisor immediately

• Provide recommendations for corrective action on areas that need improvement

Education and/ or Experience: High school diploma / GED required. At least 1-year related experience

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: CPR/AED/First Aid certification . May be required to have a valid driver's license. Completed all safety and task training certification. May be required to be forklift certified

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with team

Knowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment

Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use

Compensation and Shift:

Sunday- Wednesday 4:30pm-4:30am

Sunday-Wednesday 6:00pm-4:30am

$17.00-$18.00 per hour
