Day Porter - Custodian
Location: 1557 W Prince Rd, Tucson, AZ 85705

Position Summary

We are seeking an exceptional Day Porter to perform a variety of general maintenance and custodial duties around our school buildings. Responsibilities include plumbing, painting, landscaping, and repairs.

Responsibilities:

1. Assess all areas of the school and clean as necessary.
2. Prepare and stage cleaning supplies.
3. Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
4. Comply with chemical handling laws and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
5. Interact professionally with school administration and answer questions.
6. Clean and maintain various building facilities, including classrooms, hallways, gymnasiums, lunchrooms, nurses’ rooms, stages, and reception areas.
7. Perform room setups for meetings and events, including daily cafeteria setup.
8. Clean floors, walls, ceilings, windows, and fixtures using appropriate tools and solutions.
9. Launder towels and mop heads as needed.
10. Dust furniture, walls, light fixtures, baseboards, and equipment.
11. Gather and empty trash throughout the campus, including exterior areas.
12. Sanitize bathrooms daily.
13. Service and clean equipment daily.
14. Apply wax or sealers to floors as directed.
15. Assist with building security by locking/unlocking doors and gates.
16. Perform routine maintenance tasks like changing light bulbs and filters.
17. Notify management of supply needs and major repairs.
18. Operate and understand use of cleaning machines and tools, including vacuums, buffers, and extractors.
19. Follow HAZMAT regulations and understand Safety Data Sheets.
20. Perform other duties as assigned.

Compensation:

Qualified Candidates Must Have:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 2 years of experience in school environment cleaning or similar.
• Familiarity with SDS and basic cleaning equipment operation.
• Ability to work in teams and respond to school emergencies.
