Job summary

The Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg seeks a Custodial Assistant to keep our facility clean and safe for Veterans, families and staff. You will dust, mop, vacuum, sanitize, and help maintain restrooms and common areas, working closely with nursing and other departments.

This role offers day and evening shifts with competitive hourly pay and a benefits package including paid leave and retirement options. No prior heavy experience required—0–1 years welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize all areas including floors, restrooms and common spaces.
• Dust, mop, sweep, vacuum, scrub, wax and spot clean as assigned.
• Move furniture to allow cleaning and access.
• Climb ladders or stairs to reach areas for cleaning tasks.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums and buffers following safety rules.

Hourly Pay:

• $16.99 - $17.09 day shift
• $18.99 - $19.09 evening shift

Examples of Work:

• Clean and sanitize all areas of the Home – dust, mop, sweep, vacuum, scrub, wax, and/or spot clean as assigned
• Move furniture to adequately clean
• Climb ladders, stairwells, or steps to reach objects
• Operate large and small power-driven machinery such as vacuum, buffer, or similar equipment
• Use sanitizing agents and disinfectants in a safe and proper manner
• Stock soap, towel and toiletry dispensers
• Work closely with nursing department to determine tasks
