Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; degree preferred.
• Minimum 5 years custodial/janitorial experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass screenings for ABM and the client.
• Certifications such as CCT or CMI preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate the full scope of work for custodial frontline staff.
• Assign cleaning task schedules and monitor completion to meet standards.
• Inspect assigned buildings and facilities regularly.
• Provide ongoing training on cleaning procedures, safety, and equipment use.
• Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Prepare staff performance and maintenance reports.
• Coordinate cleaning schedules for daily, weekly, and special projects.
• Respond to custodial emergencies such as spills or biohazards.

Job Description

The Custodial Account Manager is responsible for overseeing custodial staff and ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and maintenance of school buildings and facilities. This will be responsible for managing the cleaning staff, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, and maintaining a safe environment. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and extensive knowledge of custodial practices.

Location:1701 Morrow Ave North Chicago, IL 60064

Shift: Monday- Friday 8-5 with flexibility

Compensation: $60,629.00 annual salary (US Dollars)

Responsibilities

Manager Duties

• Full scope of work evaluation of all custodial frontline staff.
• Manage cleaning task assignments and monitor completion to ensure standards are met.
• Assign and conduct regular inspections of assigned buildings and facilities.
• Provide ongoing training on cleaning procedures, safety, and equipment use.

Administrative Responsibilities

• Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Payroll adherence for all frontline staff including hourly Supervisors
• Assist Custodial Manager with related to custodial operational tasks.
• Prepare reports on staff performance, maintenance issues, and cleaning schedules.
• Ensure compliance with university policies and safety regulations (OSHA, etc.).

Operational Duties

• Develop and implement cleaning schedules for daily, weekly, and periodic tasks.
• Coordinate support for special events, emergencies, and seasonal projects (e.g., floor waxing, window cleaning, snow removal).
• Respond to custodial emergencies, such as spills, floods, or biohazards.
• Operate cleaning equipment when needed and assist staff during shortages or high-demand periods.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; degree in facilities management, hospitality, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in custodial or janitorial services, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, materials, and equipment.
• Experience with custodial management software and tools.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to successfully complete all screenings requirements for ABM and the client.
• Relevant certifications such as Certified Custodial Technician (CCT) or Cleaning Management Institute (CMI) preferred.
