Job summary

The Champaign Park District is seeking dependable CUSR Bus Drivers for part-time, non-exempt roles to transport participants and staff to recreation and community activities throughout the area. You will perform pre-trip inspections, follow IDOT laws, and maintain safety and orderly behavior during trips.

Candidates must be at least 21, hold a valid Illinois driver's license, and pass a district driving test.

Qualifications

• Must be dependable and safety-focused when transporting participants.
• Excellent communication with participants, families, and staff.
• Ability to stay calm and follow schedules under pressure.
• Must possess a valid Illinois driver's license and pass the district test.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport participants and staff to program locations throughout the community.
• Conduct pre-trip vehicle safety inspections before operating the bus.
• Follow all Illinois DOT traffic laws and park district safety procedures.
• Maintain participant safety and appropriate behavior while driving.
• Communicate schedule updates, concerns, or incidents to the supervisor promptly.
• Represent the Champaign Park District in a professional manner.
• Assist staff and participants as needed during transportation activities.
• Maintain reliable attendance and adhere to transportation schedules.

CUSR Bus DriverChampaign Park District – Part-time, Non-Exempt (not to exceed 19 hours per week on average)About the Job:The Champaign Park District is seeking dependable and safety-focused individuals to join our team as CUSR Bus Drivers. In this role, you will provide safe and reliable transportation for participants attending recreational programs and community activities throughout the area.
