Overview

Responsibilities
  • Be based in Upstate New York and cover the New York market excluding New York City; available for on-site customer meetings as required.
  • Work in close partnership with Curriculum Specialist Managers and Account Managers to support the sales process from prospect to close and advance Savvas products, services, and solutions in the New York Market.
  • Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with school, state, regional, and/or district decision makers in the market; share expertise in company offerings, pedagogy, and the competitive environment.
  • Provide post-sales support and activation following the sales cycle.
  • Achieve revenue targets by contributing to meeting and exceeding team sales quota in the market.
  • Deliver compelling presentations covering key customer touch points: exhibits and conferences, pre-work and professional learning workshops, meetings and campaigns, sales presentations, and curriculum pilot trainings.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key TK-12 decision-makers within the market segment.
  • Provide feedback by gathering and relaying customer input to sales, product, and marketing teams to improve offerings and strategies.
  • Maintain expertise by staying current with Savvas products and services through certification and training processes to support the sales cycle.
  • Conduct Product Activation training for new and existing customer accounts and facilitate professional learning workshops for districts and at conferences.
  • Understand Savvas ELA and Humanities print and digital solutions and demonstrate deep knowledge of these offerings.
  • Collaborate internally with sales, services, and product management teams to ensure alignment and address customer satisfaction issues, ensuring overall customer success.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by maintaining positive relationships throughout the sales cycle and post-activation, communicating timely and directing customers to the appropriate Savvas teams as needed.
  • Deliver excellent service to foster customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Ideal candidates will have
  • Deep K-12 knowledge: Experience in K-12 ELA and Humanities education with a strong understanding of CA curriculum standards and frameworks as well as knowledge of assessment and intervention practices.
  • Sales focus: A drive to meet and exceed revenue targets.
  • Presentation skills: Expertise in delivering engaging and informative sales presentations and product orientations.
  • Collaborative mindset: Flexible, team-oriented, and willing to adapt strategies and roles based on feedback.
  • Self-starter: Proactive, able to work independently, identify needs and opportunities, and drive projects to completion.
  • Passion for education: Genuine enthusiasm for K-12 education and ability to influence decision-making.
  • Organization: Strong time management and ability to organize materials for efficient workflow.
  • Communication skills: Ability to engage with school districts and relate to stakeholders from superintendents to paraprofessionals.
  • Strategic insight: Understanding of sales campaign strategy and market trends to meet customer needs.
  • Bilingual skills: English and Spanish a plus but not required.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of K-12 education experience, including classroom teaching.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Specialty training or advanced certification is preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of education theory and market trends in ELA and Humanities.
  • Knowledge of the competitive landscape is preferred.
  • Deep knowledge and passion for learning in K-12 education.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver winning presentations in large and small groups.
  • Experience engaging with district administrators and decision makers.
  • Previous experience in selling and servicing in the education market is desirable.
  • Public speaking skills and ability to create engaging presentations for diverse audiences, including teachers, parents, district administrators, and adoption committees.
  • Strong technology skills, with proficiency in presentation software and hardware (PC or Mac) and experience with whiteboard technology and 1:1 devices for delivering multimedia presentations both virtually and in-person.
Additional Skills/Experience
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
  • Monitoring and managing timekeeping and expenses in accordance with Savvas Travel and Expense policies.
  • Travel within the territory is 40-60% and may include overnight stays and extended hours, with occasional travel to other territories as required.
